1 ON 1 SESSIONS FROM HOME TO HOME
BALANCING ACT is a platform to connect artists, musicians, performers, and entertainers with children and young people who need support to engage in community or social activities. During this period of isolation, many individuals are unable to leave their home to attend usual daily activities like outings, school or activities in the community. Through BALANCING ACT, artists can provide 1:1 online sessions with children and young people with disability.
BALANCING ACT recruits artists with skills to engage and entertain children and young people with disability. All artists adhere to our child safe code of conduct and have WWCCs. BALANCING ACT matches artists to families and facilitates an initial online interview with the artist, the family and our social worker. Families then make their own arrangements with the artist and arrange online sessions as agreed.
Families with NDIS funding can engage artists to provide social and community engagement and skills development.
Families pay our artists directly - BALANCING ACT does not charge a fee to the family or the artist.
BALANCING ACT has a code of conduct for artists working with children and young people. Support to the artist is provided by our social worker in relation to any concerns, risks or challenges.
